The Raft – Lunch Experience – Chobe
The only floating restaurant in Chobe and a must add to any Botswana itinerary or Chobe Day Trip!
Situated at Chobe Marina Lodge, guests can enjoy the tranquility of the Chobe River while savouring the flavours of a traditional “braai” (barbecue). Whilst you are moored off the Lodge, the river has an abundance of bird life and is frequented by a host of larger herbivorous drawn to the endless supply of lush green grass throughout the year. The Raft has little to no impact on the environment and was built with 90% re-cycled material. All restaurant items are unbreakable with every scrap of refuse being bagged and disposed of off-site.
Pick up 12.15 am ~ 14:30 pm drop-off.

The Raft Lunch Experience Overview.
What an exciting way to enjoy a delicious lunch…at a restaurant floating on the Chobe River not far from the town of Kasane, a short road transfer from your lodge in Kasane, and then a scenic boat transfer across to the Raft.
Your guide will share local news and folklore, and perhaps recall the controversy surrounding the nearby Sududu Island (once the subject of a sensitive ownership battle between Botswana and Namibia). A local beer or glass of wine would be a good start to a three-meat meal, with vegetables and salad and The Raft’s special desert for afters. Wild animals grace the entire area around you, while a myriad exotic birds dart hither and thither.
This is a lunch outing like no other, amid the Chobe Flood Plains, where you can feel and see ‘Real Africa’ to the back of beyond. As you stay within the main channel there is no need to complete the immigration process between Namibia and Botswana. Just enjoy!
