This region, seeped in history offers some of the best ballooning weather in the world. A Bill Harrop’s sunrise balloon safari, with only the sounds of the birds punctuated by the odd blast of the burners, whilst you skim over the tree tops in the valley is an amazing way to welcome the day, and an experience that will stay with you forever.

All about the Bill Harrop’s Scenic Balloon Safari in the Magalies River Valley.

Experience a 720 degree wrap-around panorama of the Magalies River Valley during an exhilarating flight over the valley and high above the majestic mountain range.

The Balloon Safari departs from the Bill Harrop’s Skeerpoort Country Base in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site on the border of Gauteng and North West Province, near Hartebeesport Dam, 45 kilometers north-west of Johannesburg’s Northern suburbs.

On arrival you will enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee together with freshly-baked muffins served on the verandah of the clubhouse, and then depart on the spectacular flight lasting approximately 1 hour over the river valley. On landing you can enjoy a celebratory glass of champagne or orange juice while the crew pack up the balloon.

Back at the Clubhouse, enjoy a delectable breakfast on the patio with magnificent views of the age-old Magalies Mountains and receive your “Citation for Bravery” before your return transfer to your resort or hotel.

Minimum Guests: 2 Guests. Full Name and Weight of each guest required at booking.

Child Policy : No Children U7, Children 7 – 12 50% of adult price

Dress : Bring Warm Clothing, but “peelable” as the morning warms up.
